Physical Fitness Requirements for Annapurna Base Camp Short Trekking

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: On arrival in Kathmandu meet our staff for transfer to hotel

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome and greetings and then transfer to your hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city. After checking into your rooms getting refreshed from Jet-Lag, a quiet environment after getting refreshed join at main hall or in lobby where our guide will provide briefing on treks-hotels with necessary information. Evening includes group dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with folk culture program with various dances of Nepal while having your authentic Nepalese dinner with local entertainment.

Day 02: Fly to Pokhara and drive past Syali Bazaar to Siwai and trek to New Bridge or Jhinu village 1,740 m - 3 hrs drive and 4 hrs walks

Morning after breakfast transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for scenic short flight to Pokhara facing fabulous views of mountain range, on reaching Pokhara transfer to private vehicle, for few hour drive towards trekking starting point. On reaching Siwai past Nayapul and charming Bhirethati village following Modi River to start first day walks. From Siwai a small farm village, where trek leads uphill following the river upstream to reach at another village with similar name Nayapul or New Bridge for overnight stop after a good walk of 3-4 hours

Day 03: Trek to Himalaya Hotel 2,900 m - 08 hrs

From this small village morning starts with climb on nice paved stone steps most of the way to reach Jhinu village and beyond as our route gains altitude at slow pace to reach a top ridge of Chomrong, where a short descend takes you to a large Gurung village at Chomrong. This is the last permanent village on route Annapurna base camp with time here to explore the local culture and traditional life of the villagers with views of Annapurna peaks, walk leads to a river, after crossing a bridge then climb up to Sinuwa danda (ridge) at 2,360 m high, an isolated spot with small shops and few lodges. From here walk into deep forested areas of oaks-rhododendron and pines trees with short steep descend to Bamboo, a small settlement with some lodges within forest of bamboo groves by the raging Modi River. After Bamboo an hour or more climb leads to Dovan situated high above Modi River Gorge houses 2-3 nice lodges. After a short refreshing stops walk for another few hours to reach at Himalaya Hotel for overnight stop, located near a huge overhanging Hinko Cave and beneath Huinchuli peak.

Day 04: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m via Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 via Deurali 3,200 m - 07 hrs

After a sound and peaceful overnight stop at Himalaya Hotel downhill to cross an ablation of old avalanche filled with rocks and moraine, then climb to Deurali. After Deurali with short stop as walk leads higher on leaving tree lines behind following Modi River upstream all the way to Machhapuchare base camp above 3,700 m high, located beneath high peaks of Machhapuchare Himal North Face. With short break and admiring the scenery walk finally leads to our main destination at Annapurna base camp within picturesque Annapurna Sanctuary, where morning trek starts into sanctuary from MBC heading higher areas with short climb of few hours to enter into scenic spot at sanctuary enclosed by amphitheater of peaks. After few hours of nice and scenic walk reaching our highest point of the adventure at Annapurna base camp with 4,130 m high, the only place in Himalaya with comfort of nice and cozy lodge to stay, with free afternoon to relax and enjoy views of Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft), including to Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) at 6,790 m stretches up towards Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli and Fluted Peaks or Singu Chuli.

Day 05: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m via Bamboo - 09 hrs

After a fabulous moment and time at base camp with superb views of mountains, then retrace the walk downhill back into tree lines with few short ups to reach Bamboo. From Bamboo walk leads on leaving Modi River gorge behind then climb to Khuldi-Ghar into forested area a short gradual walk leads to Sinuwa danda, from here downhill to Chomrong River, with an hour climb on stone steps to Chomrong for possible lunch break. After Chomrong a short climb to reach a top ridge and then our route change taking an alternative trail to reach Pokhara, where a short downhill brings you Jhinu village for overnight stop, located on a ridge top, a short walk downhill reaches you at hot-spring by the Modi River for refreshing dip in warm natural spring pools.

Day 06: Trek to Siwai and drive back to Pokhara for overnight stop

Our last day of the walk of fast and express Annapurna Base Camp trekking ends back at Siwai on downhill walks, where drive takes you back at scenic Pokhara city by the Phewa Lake, with time to stroll around the lake side full of international standard restaurants, stores and shops.

Day 07: Fly back to Kathmandu and then transfer to your hotels

Morning transfer into a vehicles either by car-coach or in tourist bus (as per the size of the group), for overland journey back to Kathmandu with scenic views of mountains, green scenery of hills and farm fields within nice villages and towns as drive brings you back at hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu transfer to your respective hotels with time for individual activities and shopping souvenirs. (options by air from Pokhara to Kathmandu of half hour scenic flights)

Day 08: Depart for international flight homeward bound.
