Chulu East Peak Trek & Climb, around beautiful Manang valley enclosed within array of high snow clad peaks on the northern side of massive Annapurna Himalaya, where walk leads to scenic views of dramatic landscapes and mountains.

Cheulu East Peak Trek & Climb, where the mountain rises above 6,584m and 21,601ft high, the highest trekking peaks of Nepal Himalaya, which is well listed by NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association), a great opportunity to feel in high spirit climbing the highest lesser peaks of Nepal Himalaya.

Although a high peak the climb is not overall difficult where the grade of the peak listed as PD + used from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification System means ‘Per Difficule’ climb of some technical challenge walking and climbing on rocks, moraine, snow and ice with glaciers.

The climb of technical effort on few sections towards its summit but can be conquered with much patience and using skills and courageous efforts to reach the top, where our expert Sherpa guides will support you throughout in making the adventure a memorable and enjoyable with exciting times with us on Chulu East Peak Trek & Climb.

Chulu a group of peaks located above Manang valley consist of four major peaks with Chulu East / West / Mid and Chulu Far East hidden further towards Damodar Himal range, the peak of Chulus’ can be seen from Manang valley during the walks.

Starting this fabulous Chulu East Peak Trek & Climb with exciting overland journey to reach at Nepal Mid West following the Masrsyangdi River upstream near to its source at Manang and beyond where walk leads on scenic Annapurna circuit trail past nice and cultural villages of Syange-Jagat-Tal-Dharapani-Timang and Chame town and then entering a windswept beautiful Manang valley from Pisang village onward into more Buddhist culture areas and villages.

Walk leads beyond and above Manang valley to our main highlight and goal to Chulu East Peak, where climbing is undertaken after much rest and preparation for the Big haul to the top of Chulu East Peak summit, after a great exciting and adventurous climb, then heading back on the main trails to Manang village and over Thorang-la pass.

As walk progress after a great adventure on Chulu East climb, then entering into Mustang areas at holy Muktinath and Jomsom, headquarter town of whole Mustang district located on old Trans Himalaya Salt Trade route of Nepal and Tibet.

From Jomsom our adventurous journey and walks completes with sweeping spectacular flight to land scenic Pokhara city blessed with natural beauty of lakes and mountains and then heading back to Kathmandu with outmost mesmerizing adventure of a lifetime experience on Chulu East Peak Trek & Climb.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 On arrival in Kathmandu meet our staff for transfer to hotel

On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome and greetings and then transfer to your hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city. After checking into your rooms getting refreshed from Jet-Lag, a quiet environment after getting refreshed join at main hall or in lobby where our guide will provide briefing on treks-hotels with necessary information. Evening includes group dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with folk culture program with various dances of Nepal while having your authentic Nepalese dinner with local entertainment.

Day 2 In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour around world heritage sites.

Morning after hearty breakfast depart from the hotel where our city and tour guide leads you for exciting guided sightseeing around Kathmandu. Although Kathmandu a metropolitan city still retains its ancient culture and traditional way of life With many world heritage sites to visit of great interest, tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square (old Palace courtyard) old Syambhunath Stupa (famous land mark of Nepal and Kathmandu), Bouddhanath Stupa (Little Tibet) with holy Pashupatinath Temple of Hindu religion and then back to hotel with time for Chulu East Trek & Climb preparations.

Day 3 Drive to Syange 1,460 m via Besisar town on Nepal Mid West highway - 07 hrs.

Morning as per group size either by car, coach or bus an interesting overland journey on Nepal’s most popular and busy highway, heading towards Nepal Mid West to reach Lamjung district at Besisar, headquarter town of Lamjung area and then following Marysangdi River upstream to Syange village for overnight stop.

Day 4 Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 05 hours.

From Syange morning leads to a climb at Jagat village unto Chamje village and then crossing over Marysangdi River into forested areas, as walk proceeds on gradual path above the river to reach at Tal Besi, entering into Manang district as air gets cooler from here on with gain in altitude slowly. Walk leads to cross over the river with few hours of nice walk reaching at lovely Dharapani village for overnight stop, where the trail of Manaslu joins.

Day 5 Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hours

As air gets cooler walking into nice forested areas of tall rhododendron-pines and fir tree lines with views of snow capped peaks of Manaslu-Lamjung and Annapurna, slowly walk leads to more Buddhist cultural areas at Bagarchap-Danaque and Timang. From Timang with possible lunch breaks overlooking mountain views, afternoon walk leads near Marysangdi River and into cool shade of alpine woods to reach at Chame for overnight halt, headquarter and administrative town of Manang areas.

Day 6 Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.

Morning continues with slow gradual walks into green woodland of pines-rhododendron and fir trees following the river upstream to cross a bridge, where uphill climb leads at Dukari Pokhari with views of Pisang and Chulu peaks. From this vantage spot heading down to a valley at Pisang village encountering rows of prayer wheels and Mani walls all the way to our lodge at Pisang village for overnight stop.

Day 7 Trek to Julu 3,900m past Ngawal village 3657m - 06 hrs.

After overnight in Pisang village, our route leads away from the main Annapurna trails for some days entering into remote and wild areas above Manang valley towards Chulu East Peak. As walk leads facing grand views of Annapurna and Chulu peaks, as walk continues higher above Nagawa village, leading towards North West into more arid and dry terrain to reach at Jhulu small village for first camping of the adventure.

Day 8 At Julu village for acclimatization.

A n important and necessary rest day for proper acclimatization before heading higher elevation as well for preparation for the adventure climbof Chulu East peak, here enjoy views with optional hike around this remote Julu village located high with grand scenery of mountains and of Chulu’s peaks.

Day 9 Trek to Chulu Base Camp at 5,300m -04 hrs.

After a nice and pleasant stop at Julu, morning walk leads higher up towards remote within complete wilderness with views of Chulu’s and northern Annapurna range of mountains. Climb leads above scenic Manang valley towards Chulu East close to Chulu Far East Peaks, after a tough climb reaching a rocky moraine area on top of a ridge to set our base camp for the climb. This will be a perfect and ideal spot for base camp beneath towering Chulu East Peak with amazing views of surrounding mountains and dramatic landscapes

Day 10 Trek and climb to Chulu East Peak high / advance camp 5,955m - 03 hrs

A short day but tough due to high altitude, as our morning walk follows a faint and vague path where few climbers and Yak herders hardly use this route to set a high camp. Walk leads over rocks, ice and glacier to reach at the very bottom of Chulu East Peak where high camp is set for the climb, this will make more approachable towards its summit top for next morning climb. Afternoon our guide will scout the area for safe approachable and accessible route to its summit by fixing ropes and making ice ledges where necessary. High Camp situated on a rocky and ice spot right beneath Chulu East Peak, under some conditions this area may be under snow, afternoon free to sort the gear and full preparation for exciting climb.

Day 11 Climb of Chulu East Peak and descend to Base Camp

Our main highlight of the adventure starting early before dawn to reach over a snowy slopes to a rocky and icy ridge, where a steep climb leads you with some technical sections on few areas of the climb to reach at the summit of Chulu East Peak; our expert guide will support you with necessary skill and technique required to reach at the summit top. After a final ascent reaching on top of Chulu East Peak above 6,584m | 21,601ft high, facing incredible views and panorama of surrounding peaks of Annapurna-Damodar Himal with all of Chulu range of peaks. Marvel the extraordinary scenery and descend back to base camp safely and feeling in high spirit and quite tired.

Day 12 Trek to Julu village - 05 hrs

After a great adventure on top Chulu East Nepal’s Himalaya highest trekking peaks, feeling in high spirit heading back on easy trail back to Julu village for overnight stops.

Day 13 Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs

With glorious views of snow capped peaks of Pisang-Chulu and Annapurna II and IV, heading into a small forested area with climb for an hour to a ridge with grand views of Manang valley with Humdre airstrip close to the village. Walk is easier from here on with touch of high altitude as elevation gains slowly on walks to reach at Braga village, where a short walk uphill leads to its old and interesting monastery enriched with religious monuments and idols of Buddha and Guru Ringpoche (Padmasamava) with fresco and religious painting on walls and ceiling. This spot offer amazing panorama of Annapurna Himalaya with Chulu and Pisang peaks, as walk continues for another hour to reach at main Manang village for overnight stop.

Day 14 Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 06hrs

With enjoyable time around Manangvillage exploring its rich culture of Buddhist traditions and custom, where morningwalks leads to Yak Kharka, a small settlement, actually a summer pasture and grazing fields of Yaks and other cattle’s, morning leads to a slow uphill on wider trailfacing views of Gangapurna-Annapurna II – III with Chulupeaks. After a great scenic walks reaching at Yak Kharkafor overnight and lunch stop with time in the afternoon for rest and short walks on this peaceful environment with views of mountains.

Day 15 Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs

Morning with wonderful scenery of mountains, another short day walks but with a difference as the altitude gains higher to reach at the base of Thorang-La pass at Phedi or High Camp, our route leads North west crossing a small stream with climb, where sometimes one can spot some wild-life of antelopes Himalayan Thar or mountain goats. Walk finally reaches at Phedi with few lodges, after a rest here a steep climb on zig-zag path for an hour to our overnight stop at High Camp of Thorang-La pass.

Day 16 Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m - 07 hrs.

Today another big day of the adventure as walk leads to a winding up from one ridge to another can be quite strenuous due to high altitude gain, overlooking views of peaks as our route leads finally on top of Thorang-la pass, the highest point of the trek. Festooned with thousands of Buddhist prayer flags with board with heights and name of Thorang-La offers incredible views of Dhaulagiri-Damodar and Mustang Himal with Annapurna and Chulu peaks, with time here for rest and then downhill to reach at holy place of Muktinath. Regarded as one of the holiest pilgrimage place for Hindu as well for some Buddhist visit the temple premises with 108 water spouts, which is one of the tributaries and source of Kaligandaki River. The name Muktinath comes from ancient Sanskrit word means place for Liberation or Freedom, a high spot with grand views of Dhaulagiri range of mountains

Day 17 Trek to Jomsom 2, 715 m- 04hours

From Muktinath rest of the trek is much easier on gradual and downhill walks with drop of 1,200 m to reach Kaligandaki river valley, from the valley floor walk on windswept Kaligandaki river valley to reach at Jomsom, a headquarter town of Mustang district with a small an airstrip on the shelf of Kaligandaki River. Jomsom and Kaligandaki areas, famous for delicious apple and fine products cider, brandy and juice an interesting town of Thakali people to explore around, located on old Trans Himalaya Salt / Caravan route of Nepal and Tibet beyond Upper Mustang.

Day 18 Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and transfer to hotel by Phewa Lake

Morning transfer to Jomsom airport for short scenic flight to land at Pokhara, during air fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range of mountains with sweeping landscapes, from Pokhara airport transfer to your hotel by the calm Phewa Lake for overnight stop. Pokhara, a popular touristic destination blessed with natural beauty and scenery of mountains-hills and lakes.

Day 19 Drive or fly to Kathmandu and then transfer to your hotels.

Morning transfer into a vehicles either by car-coach or in tourist bus (as per the size of the group), for overland journey back to Kathmandu with scenic views of mountains, green scenery of hills and farm fields within nice villages and towns as drive brings you back at hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu.
