Mt. Everest Expedition, a dream of countless mountaineers to step on top roof of the world following same earlier route of famous Tenzing and Hillary to reach Mt. Everest via South Col with spectacular panorama of mountains of both Nepal and Tibet sides and as far towards Mt. Kanchenjunga with Mt. Makalu. Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions, where adventurous and scenic walks leads you at the foot of Mt. Everest that towers high above 8,848 m and 29,028 ft high the mountain top regarded as Third Pole with various names to honor Sagarmatha in Nepalese and Chomlungma in Sherpa of Tibetan origin, where both names means ‘Great Mother. Mt. Everest straddles the border between Nepal south and Tibet-China side known as North Col of Mt. Everest where most of the climbing is done through Nepal side on the earlier classic route to the top of this black rock pyramid as seen from Khumbu and Nepal.
Tramping Himalaya Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions leads you to successful climb to the summit backed and supported by our native veteran and professional mountaineers who have lead several climbing expeditions over the past years with great success and fame. We are delighted and glad to announce that our Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions is quite different to others with ample time to reach the summit with enough time to acclimatize as well practice on ice and rock climbing before the final ascent. Starting from the capital Kathmandu where every logistic and manpower support will be fully organized including all paper works related to the expeditions with packing and rechecking gears before beginning our marvelous adventure on Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions. Taking a short flight to reach at Khumbu areas of Everest in Lukla and then walking to reach the famed Namche Bazaar after a climb with scenic views all along the trek, at Namche with time for rest and re-checking our staff members and gears and then heading towards Everest Camp with couple of overnights stops on designated villages in the comfort of nice cozy lodges. After a week of rest and trekking reaching at Everest Base Camp, where camping will be established for the great ascent, here with time of 30 days to re-group climbers and sorting gears and then ferrying loads to respective camps on route Mt. Everest summit. With challenging crossing over massive Khumbu Ice Falls to reach the last camp at South Col at above 8,000 m which links with the route to Lhotse also, from South Col heading higher taking the route of Hillary steps to reach the summit top of Mt. Everest where all climbers feels in high spirits being on top of the world. After a great victory and triumph descend back safely to base camp and then on the road to Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu with mesmerizing and overwhelming experience and adventure on Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 On arrival in Kathmandu meet our staff for transfer to hotel
On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome and greetings and then transfer to your hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city. After checking into your rooms getting refreshed from Jet-Lag, a quiet environment after getting refreshed join at main hall or in lobby where our guide will provide briefing on expeditions, treks-hotels with necessary information. Evening includes group dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with folk culture program with various dances of Nepal while having your authentic Nepalese dinner with local entertainment.

Day 2 - 4 Three Days in Kathmandu preparation for Mt. Everest Expeditions
We have allowed three full days to get organized with final preparations for Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions, where every member will check and load the gears with time for optional sightseeing tour or just relax and save the energy for the great mountaineering adventure.

Day 5 Fly to Lukla 2,820 m (30 mins flights) and trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 03 hrs.
Early morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for super short flight to land at Lukla, the gateway to many adventures around Khumbu region, where walk starts on gradual winding path past several Sherpa farm villages with views of Kongde and Kusum-Khanguru to reach overnight stop at Phakding, located by the glacial Dudh Kosi Rivers.

Day 6 Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs
Today walk leads to Namche Bazaar gaining altitude as walk progress, morning walk starts following the river and crossing several times to reach at Monjo village near Sagarmatha National Park entrance, from here walking on river valley and gorge covered within nice woodland of tall rhododendron-pines and fir trees. After crossing a high last bridge with few hours climb to Namche Bazaar with stunning views of Everest-Lhotse and Kongde peaks. Namche Bazaar at 3,440 m high an ideal place for rest day to acclimatize, the main town / village of Khumbu where colorful and exciting Saturday market takes place once a week.

Day 7 Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion
Rest day for acclimatization before heading higher terrain, morning after breakfast with options for hike to Everest View Hotel or walk on top of Namche, where you can catch super landscapes scenery with Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam with series of high peaks, here enjoy visiting National Park Museum provides you with much information of Khumbu region, Sherpa history-culture-flora and fauna including detail on mountaineering.

Day 8 Trek to Thyangboche Monastery 3,867 m - 05 hrs
Enjoying pleasant time at Namche, morning walk leads to scenic and gradual walks overlooking Everest and other giant peaks, as our route leads downhill to Imjatse river at Phunki Tenga, a small place with few lodges an ideal spot for refreshing break or lunch stop. From here heading uphill into enchanting alpine forest to reach a beautiful surrounding at Thyangboche Monastery offering grand panorama of mountains with Everest and Ama Dablam at close distance, here with time for tour into monastery and witness monks and priest on prayer. Thyangboche also holds a colorful festival ‘Mani-Rimdu’ monks with mask dancing wading evil spirits which falls in the month of October as per Buddhist lunar calendar.

Day 9 Trek to Dingboche 4410 m - 05hrs.
Morning catching super views of high peaks with Everest, our route descends into forested areas reaching a metal bridge, from here a slow climb encountering mani (prayer) walls along the walks to Pangboche village, this is a last Sherpa permanent village on route to Everest base camp. Other places are temporary settlements with fine lodges to cater the needs of travelers and trekkers, as walk continues heading higher, from here walk leads on barren and arid country where tree lines drops for small bushes of juniper and dwarf rhododendron (azalea). Walking uphill into a river gorge and then finally opens up into a wide glacial valley on reaching Dingboche With many good lodges around facing views of Imjatse or Island peaks towards east

Day 10 Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion
Another rest day for acclimatization on this high elevation a fine place for leisure hike and walks around where a climb up to a hill offers tremendous scenery of peaks with Mt. Makalu towards east horizon. Enjoying scenic excursion with afternoon free to catch up with your dairy and relax marveling the views of Ama Dablam North Face with other giant mountains.

Day 11 Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 05 hrs
From Dingboche our route leads closer to Everest as walk climbs to a ridge marked with prayer flags and Stupas, then walking on nice gradual uphill facing marvelous scenery to reach at a small place in Thugla where Khumbu glaciers melts into a torrential river. A perfect place for rest and lunch stop, where afternoon walks leads to a steep climb at Thugla hill a place with many memorials of unfortunate climbers around peaks of Khumbu and Everest. Walk continues for another few hours on nice gradual up to Lobuche for overnight stop, a place with several nice lodge with views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.

Day 12 Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m via Gorakshep 5,180 m - 05 hrs
Today a great walk towards our main highlight and final destinations to reach Everest Base Camp, as morning walk leads on open wide valley with slow climb to reach above Khumbu glaciers, walking past moraine dunes reaching at Gorakshep, a place with few lodges on the junction of Everest base camp and Kalapatthar route. Gorakshep was earlier Everest base camp till late 1970’s before the route moved about 4-6 k.m. further, from Gorakshep few hours walk over moraine and glacier to reach our ultimate destination at base camp with sweeping views of giant peaks of Nuptse-Lo la, Nuptse with notorious huge Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers. At base camp were camping sites will be already established by our crews and guides at least a week ahead with time to marvel great views of Khumbu icefalls and giant peaks of Lingtrin-Nuptse-Pumori with Lo-la as well Mt. Chamlang located within Tibetan side

Day 13 - 43 Maximum 30 days for the ascent of Mt. Everest with number of high camps.
We have reserved thirty full days for final ascent on top Mt. Everest summit, at base camp with final preparation for the great climb where some technical skill required towards massive Khumbu Ice Falls where you will gain an adventure of a lifetime experience. From Everest base camp at above 5,364m, climbing leads before Khumbu Ice Falls to establish High or Advance Camp at above 6, 100 m high, and then facing some technical difficulty over Khumbu Ice-fall, the climbing route will be taken care by our expert guides where necessary secure and safety measures will be taken. From above base camp one requires much mental and physical effort for the attempts as well for successful climb, on this adventure requires at maximum of IV to V camps before the summit top and as well for descend. However our climbing duration of 30 days will be useful setting number of camps and ferrying loads to respective camp sites before reaching top of Everest. The last camp will be at South Col ridge which connects with Mt. Lhotse. The final climb leads to cross last section on Hillary step to reach the top summit. The Hillary step a technical section of this climb beside Khumbu Ice Falls, climbing from South Col route is technically straightforward than the North Col (Tibet side), except for Khumbu Ice falls. During more than week time or more one can start loading and carrying gears to Camp I and Camp II, and at Western Cwm. Once everyone is well acclimatized, Camp I will be mostly by-passed on-route for Camp II. The route to this point involves crossing over crevasses using ladders, jumaring up serac walls and a long tedious plod-up the Western Cwm. Camp III will be half way up near Lhotse Face at 7,400 meters high, from here a long rising traverse across the snow slopes, a yellow band of rock and the Geneva Spur, leads to the South Col and Camp IV. Return back at base camp after setting up camps and getting acclimatized and then waiting for the right day with clear good weather, as the weather improves starting our adventure following the lead guide and leader towards summit of the world above 8,848 m / 29,028 ft. After a great tough experience and adventure feeling in high spirit reaching and standing at the Mt. Everest summit, and then descend back safely towards base camp using few camps on route downhill.

Day 44 At Base Camp packing and cleaning up rubbish at proper disposal sites
Where all team-members should reach at Base Camp for final re-grouping, includes guide and staff, to assist packing equipments and checking each member health condition after the great climb of a lifetime experience. Start packing all climbing gears and disposing garbage in proper sites, where SPPC (Sagarmatha Pollution Control) will check the camp and depositing the litter to take away from the base camp to disposal sites or back to Kathmandu.

Day 45 Trek to Pangboche 3,900 m via Pheriche -06 hrs.
Morning clearing the last remaining tents and equipments with rubbish to carry or to hand over to SPCC (Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee) after loading gears on yaks and other beast of burden, then leave the base camp on easy downhill trail to reach at Pheriche and towards Pangboche village for overnight stop

Day 46 Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs
Walk on same route with descend to Imjatse River and then climb to Thyangboche Monastery back into green vegetation and tree lines, with time here to enjoy scenic views and then downhill to Phunki Tenga and climb for an hour to reach a small place at Kyanjinma. From here on pleasant wide winding path to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop after a long nice walk from Pangboche village

Day 47 Trek to Lukla - 07 hrs
Morning with last day trek of this marvelous adventure leads on same scenic trail to Phakding on following Dudh Kosi River downstream, from here a pleasant walk with few short ups and down to Choplung village, where an hour climb brings you back at Lukla for lunch and overnight stop. In Lukla celebrate last night dinner among fellow climbers, guides and porters after a fantastic time on Mt. Everest South Col Expeditions and trekking.

Day 48 Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotels.
Morning transfer to Luka air terminal named Tenzing-Hillary airport, tribute to late legendry mountaineers the first to conquer Mt. Everest. As per the flight time board in small aircraft (Dornier or Twin Otter) a scenic 35 minutes flight brings you to hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu transfer to your respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure.

Day 49 In Kathmandu contingency and free day for individual activities
A spare and contingency day in Kathmandu we have reserved two days in case of flight delay and cancellation at Lukla due to unavoidable conditions like unfavorable bad weather conditions, which is some part of the adventure being in Himalayan region. Well as per the plan with normal flight time, this day to be used for your own individual activities and shopping souvenirs or join in for another exciting tour around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur for delightful sightseeing tour around world heritage sites and seeing more of Nepalese culture. During these days relax where guide and leader will submit reports of the expeditions to concern Nepal Government department.

Day 50 Depart for international flight home ward bound or to respective countries.
