Trip Overview
Do you know that the Tilicho Lake is the highest altitude lake of the world? Yes, the lake is an iconic wonder of the Mother Nature situated at the Annapurna region of Nepal. Moreover, the lake is in the vicinity of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Therefore, people walking on the Annapurna Circuit trek route prefer to do the visit of Tilicho Lake as well. Therefore, Tramping Himalaya Adventures knitted the itinerary that encompasses both Thorong La Pass crossing and Tilicho Lake exploration. Hence, try booking the Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Mid Circuit Trekking package at the best possible rate with us.
Experience the walking journey in Nepal’s most classical trekking route. Cross the daunting Thorong La pass and reach to the shores of the world’s highest situated lake. Brace yourself for the momentous journey of Nepal’s splendid Himalayan region. Get ready to get the best value of travel investment by doing the Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Mid Circuit Trekking package.
Tilicho Lake Trek Journey
Until Manang Village, trekkers follow the similar itinerary for the Tilicho Lake Trek as well as Annapurna Circuit Trek in Nepal. After the acclimatization activities, trekkers follow the trail of Siri Kharka and Khangsar Village. The trekkers leave the route of Annapurna Circuit Trek and follow the path to the Lake. The trail is rugged and arduous. The falling stones and the steep inclined landscape make it harder for the trekkers to traverse towards the lake. Please remember that nowadays, you can get the luxury teahouse or lodge in the Tilicho Base Camp. It takes about 5 – 6 hours from the Tilicho Base Camp to reach the lakeside area. Therefore, some prefer to do the day hike from the Tilicho Base Camp and visit the lake before returning back to Tilicho Base Camp.
From the Tilicho Base Camp, trekkers take the trekking route towards Yak Kharka and meet the Annapurna Circuit Trek route. The itinerary of Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Mid Circuit Trekking Package definitely supports the theme of traveling on these parts of Nepal.
Crossing of Thorong La Pass
The most iconic and adventurous activity to do in Nepal during the Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Mid Circuit Trekking is the crossing of Thorong La Pass. From Yak Kharka, trekkers walk towards either Thorong Phedi or High Camp. Decide whether to spend the overnight in Phedi or in the high camp before crossing the Thorong La Pass. There are both advantages and disadvantages of doing the Thorong La Pass either from Thorong Phedi or High Camp. The advantage of spending the overnight in the high camp is that it becomes easier to cross the pass the next day. However, sleeping in the high altitude might be daunting for some trekkers due to high altitude. Overnight sleep in the Thorong Phedi is comfortable in comparison to the sleeping in the high camp but it is daunting to cross the pass from phedi. You will have to walk more and start early in the morning.
Muktinath Temple and Eternal Flame in the Buddhists Monastery
In the Lower Mustang region of Nepal, trekkers will visit the holy Muktinath temple and Buddhists monastery. This is in the other side of the Thorong La Pass. These two places hold special place in the heart of Hindu and Buddhists people. Therefore, the trekking ends with the spiritual note. After the Himalayan wilderness, trekkers shower their soul the spiritual awakening. The temple of Muktinath is of Lord Vishnu. There are two ponds (sin and divine) and 108 taps. It is believed that people who dip into the pond and take bath in the taps will have the salvation. All their sins will be forgiven and will get the new lease of life.
Is it worth doing Tilicho Lake and Mid Annapurna Circuit Trekking?
Yes, it is the most worthwhile trekking route to trek on. You will not find the best trekking trail that offers Himalayan sanctuary, mountain wilderness, high altitude passes, multiethnic villages, lakes, and landscape amalgamated in one single trip. Therefore, without any hesitancy, contact the travel planners of Tramping Himalaya Adventures! Knit together the best trekking memories in Nepal.
