What are the permits required for the Annapurna Trekking?
You need to get two trekking permits in order to do the trekking. The first one is the ACAP permit and the second one is the TIMS permit. ACAP stands for the Annapurna Conservation Area Project and TIMS stands for the Trekkers’ Information Management System governed by the Nepal Tourism Board and Trekking Agencies’ Associations of Nepal respectively.
Travel Insurance and Difficulty level in Annapurna Region Trekking
Every trekking trip in Nepal requires travel insurance mandatorily. The Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is not an exception. Therefore, you need to buy the travel insurance prior to the trip commencement. The trekking agency will do the insurance of the trekking crew members. However, you need to do your insurance yourself. The plan must include the provision of the helicopter rescue, medical expense and accidents. In terms of the difficulty level in the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, it is regarded as the easy and moderate trekking route. Even if the trekkers reach up to 4130 m from sea level, the risk of high altitude sickness is very less.
