The journey of EBC Trek takes trekkers to an adventure of a lifetime as trekkers reach the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain Mt. Everest. Moreover, the trip signifies the great momentous as well as pride moments. No wonder! Everest base camp is not an ordinary destination. It is indeed the most satisfying walking route to walk on.

How is normal trekking experience in the Everest Base Camp Trekking route?

Everest Base Camp Trekking starts with the scenic and adventurous flight to the Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. The walking journey heads to Namche Bazaar that is the nerve center and Sherpa heartland. The green lush forests and diverse landscape are the major highlights of the trekking trail.  There are at least two acclimatization breaks during the trek. The first acclimatization is at Namche Bazaar and the second one is at Dingboche. Trekkers hike the Everest View Hotel and Nagarshan Hill for the acclimatization activities.

Traveling in the route of Everest Base Camp Trekking requires immense planning. Therefore, you need to take the assistance from the reliable trekking agency. In Nepal, you can find countless trekking agencies. However, you need to choose the right travel companion. After all, you will be visiting the abode of the world’s tallest mountain Mt. Everest. Always ask questions and quench your queries before embarking on the trip. The period between Dingboche and Gorakshep is the most crucial one as trekkers have to walk on the glacier from Lobuche. Additionally, the altitude is also the biggest concern. Gorakshep is the last village on the trail from where trekkers embark on the journey to Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar.

The return trip from base camp to Lukla is similar to that of ascending. Trekkers will retrace the trail back to Lukla via Pheriche, Namche, and Phakding.

How to do successful Everest Base Camp Trekking?

The most successful way of doing the Everest Base Camp Trekking in Nepal is to heed the instructions of the guide. Trekkers need to drink plenty of soupy food and water. The biggest hindrance for the successful Everest trekking is the food and drinking pattern of the guest. Drink lots of water and soupy food in order to hydrate the body. The biggest remedy in avoiding the altitude sickness is to keeping the body hydrated. Up in the mountains and high altitude places, the amount of oxygen is very less. Therefore, lots of people couldn’t finish the trekking.

Apart from following the proper itinerary and dietary habits, trekkers need to get the travel insurance. Getting the travel insurance enhances the confidence level. In case of the emergencies, trekkers can be evacuated from the mountains to the city area. Therefore, buy the insurance plan that covers emergency helicopter rescue, accidents, cancellations due to weather, and medical expenses.

Best time to do Everest Trekking

Nepal Trekking is best during the months of spring and autumn season. During this time of the year, the weather is clear and mountain vista is spectacular. The biggest hindrance in the Everest Base Camp Trekking in Nepal is the flight cancellations. Therefore, avoid doing the trekking in winter and monsoon season. March, April, May, September, October, and November are the best time to do Everest Trekking.

Permits for Everest Trekking

Trekkers need to get 3 permits for the Everest Base Camp Trekking. TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System), Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality fee, and Sagarmatha National Park permit are required for the trekking in the Everest region of Nepal. The cost of TIMS is 10 USD, Rural Municipality fee is 2000 Nepali Rupees, and Sagarmatha National Park fee is 3000 Nepali Rupees.

Sherpa Villages, Monastery, and Mountain Wilderness

Trekkers will be able to understand the unique culture and traditions of the Sherpa people as well. On the way, trekkers can find countless Mane Walls, prayer flags, pagodas, and monasteries as well. These places showcase the spiritual side of the region. The most sacred monastery is the Tengboche Monastery. The place hosts the famous Mani Rimdu Festival as well. The sight of the mountains is abundant during the trek. Major mountains on the trail are Kusum Kangaru, Kwangde, Thamserku, Amadablam, Cholatse, Tabuche, Pumori, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, etc. Nowhere in the world you will find the amount of mountain vistas than during the Everest Base Camp Trekking
